RevMax-adpackages ‘packageid’ cannot be null

January 18, 2010

Warning this information may be outdated. Please see the forum for up to date RevMax help and instructions. http://www.openxpayments.com.

Really have no idea when this crept in, however it seems RevMax-adpackages was returning an error when adding a new ad package

“‘packageid’ cannot be null

This issue has been addressed and the new file is available in the package on the download server.

To install, unzip package, upload:
file:
RevMax/www/admin/plugins/RevMax/RevMax-packages.php
to:
openx_directory/www/admin/plugins/RevMax/RevMax-packages.php

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    Hello Mike;
We received your email and attachment. I think we were confused because we saw the error message on the RevMax Update tab. We were thinking that it was reporting an error but we think it’s just a message from your web site? Correct? We can ignore it?

We were able to add two ad packages without problems.

While I have you on the line. This is Joe, I work with Bruce.
The documentation that is online is a little bit out of sync with the actual packages but we’re figuring it out. It would be helpful to update the documentation because the newer 401 RevMax has different terminology labels then the older online labels. IE: Amount & Number Available & Package Return url Location; in the Add ad packages screen.

I’m still looking for the advertiser login screen because I was doing some testing and it said that my account already existed but I wasn’t able to sign in under the OpenX sign in screen and nothing is listed under the RevMax tabs for any accounts. I didn’t see any other accounts under the administrator page as well. Not sure where to see a list of all the advertisers who have signed up. I did see pending publishers but that’s all. Maybe it will appear after I run through a dummy test using paypal?

    My email is *****removed

    Thanks, Joe

Yes, The RevMax index tab, actually displays the last post to this category, RevMax Updates, to keep customers advised of issues and updates. As per the error, It should not have been present, but was in some released package, so the info and fix was posted. Not all “errors” will exist for all users, so, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it, it may well be a client server specific issue at times.

I agree, Updating the docs, would help greatly, feel free to pitch in. there’s one of me, 2 kids, and a house I am remodeling currently, so at times, I am a hand short for typing.

The advertiser login screen, is the OpenX login screen. A new client must pass the signup process and a completed payment made before RevMax will add them to the database. The database being added to is OpenX and not a new table of RevMax. The payment information is stored in the payment processor specific table being used, so if paypal look fo this table, if authorize.net or other, see that table if you wish to create more scripting to manipulate this user data.

The package return url, is used if you wish to sign a user up on a separate domain, then forward them back there after completed payment. It is also useful, in regards to the above error, when you wish to modify, the signup form and use a “pass back” url to post additional transaction data through paypal, and back to your server using the custom field or other.

Any terminology (text) used in the RevMax screens can be changed to fit your needs in /openx_directory/www/admin/plugins/RevMax/lib/RevMax.inc.php . Feel free to translate or rename things to make it easier for you and your environment. You can also edit most (outside) client text used in the signup forms themselves, in /openx_directory/clients/clients.lang.php .

For testing sake, you can generate a invoice number with a signup on the server, then use that invoice number (from RM_signups) and paypal, php url at the sandbox ipn testing screen.

You can allways use the contact link above or post on the forum if you have more specific questions.
